Mission Statement
My goal is to offer gentle yoga classes that feel accessible and safe, and that nourish emotional and physical well-being for people of all ages and abilities from a variety of cultures and circumstances. I'm especially interested in offering yoga as a supportive resource for people who have experienced trauma, loss, or marginalization. All of my classes, sessions, and presentations are available in both English and in Spanish.

History Of Practice
I am an E-RYT 200, with more than 300 hours of hatha and yin yoga teacher training and 1000 hours teaching experience. Since 2007 I've taught gentle hatha yoga, yoga suave (gentle yoga in Spanish), yin yoga, yoga for elders, yoga, music & movement (YoMM) for kids, and family yoga & dance classes. I've taught yoga for people living with trauma from experiences such as war, domestic violence, racism, and sexual assault. I offer yoga-centered storytelling and music presentations for kids. In addition, in 2016 I completed the 300-hour Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) facilitator training through the Trauma Center of the Justice Resource Institute. Since then I work to ensure that all of my yoga classes are trauma informed. Under the auspices of the Trauma Center I offer private and group sessions in TCTSY, an evidence-based adjunct therapy designed to provide a sense of safety for survivors of complex trauma, and relief and healing from specific symptoms of trauma.

Personal Statement
From gentle, contemplative adult classes to upbeat children’s sessions filled with music and movement, I try to provide opportunities for each person to find in their yoga practice a stronger sense of connection with their own body, heart and mind, and the inner resources to help them connect and live well in the world.

Upcoming Projects
Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga is a gentle, respectful adjunct treatment for complex trauma from neglect, abuse, or violence. Developed with input from trauma survivors, it emphasizes invitational language, choice, body-based mindfulness or interoception, taking effective action, and creating rhythms. TCTSY is used with people of all ages who have complex or relational trauma, and can also provide relief for caregivers, service providers, and others who have secondary trauma from close or ongoing contact with the trauma of others. It is recognized by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) as an evidence-based adjunct therapy for complex trauma. I offer presentations about complex trauma and TCTSY in English or Spanish, and individual or group sessions for all ages on a private basis and through organizations, agencies or groups. You can learn more about TCTSY at or by visiting my website,
