Mission Statement
My goal is to offer gentle yoga classes that feel accessible and safe, and that nourish emotional and physical well-being for people of all ages from a variety of cultures and circumstances. I'm particularly drawn to working with older adults, children and youth, and to offering yoga as a supportive health resource for people who have experienced trauma, loss, or marginalization.

History Of Practice
I am an E-RYT 200, with more than 300 hours of hatha and yin yoga teacher training and over 1000 hours teaching experience since 2007. In 2016 I also completed the 300 hour Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) training with David Emerson of the Trauma Center in Brookline MA, and in 2018 became certified through Dane County to offer TCTSY and other yoga for mental and emotional health through the Comprehensive Community Services program for people on Medicaid. I also offer yoga-centered storytelling and music presentations for kids.

Personal Statement
From gentle, contemplative adult classes to upbeat children’s sessions filled with music and movement, I try to provide opportunities for each person to find in their yoga practice a stronger sense of connection with their own body, heart and mind, and the inner resources to help them connect and live well in the world.

Upcoming Projects
Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga is a gentle, respectful adjunct treatment for complex trauma from neglect, abuse, or violence. Developed with input from trauma survivors, it emphasizes invitational language, choice, body-based mindfulness or interoception, taking effective action, and creating rhythms. TCTSY is used with people of all ages who have complex or relational trauma, and can also provide relief for caregivers, service providers, and others who have secondary trauma from close or ongoing contact with the trauma of others. It is recognized by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) as an evidence-based adjunct therapy for complex trauma. I offer presentations about complex trauma and TCTSY in English or Spanish, and individual or group sessions for all ages on a private basis and through organizations, agencies or groups. You can learn more about TCTSY at www.traumasensitiveyoga.com or by visiting my website, clarenorelle.com.
