Mission Statement
My mission in being a yoga teacher for cancer survivors is to bring the relaxation, breath awareness, and strengthening that come from a regular yoga practice.

History Of Practice
I completed 200 hour yoga teacher training in 2016 and immediately completed the Y4C training. Classes occur weekly Monday nights at 6:30 at Tantra Wellness and Yoga, 402 E. Wilson St. Madison, WI 53703.

Personal Statement
I have been studying yoga and other movement modalities for over 30 years. I also have been a physician assistant working with cancer survivors for over 15 years. When I decided to complete a yoga teacher training, and follow that with the Yoga 4 Cancer training, my goal was to meet a need for cancer survivors that that I encountered regularly in my job. Many of the individuals I have cared for have talked about having a difficult time getting back to feeling strong and vital in their bodies after cancer and its treatment. The Y4C method offers a modified practice in order to make yoga more accessible for individuals who have had surgeries, or been treated with chemotherapy or radiation. The poses themselves are modified but challenging, and additional modifications can be offered depending on personal need. These classes offer increased confidence, strengthening, and attention to fullness of breath and quieting the mind.
