Mission Statement
Our motto at MovNat Madison is Move well. Be strong. Help others. Moving well means working towards unconscious competence in our daily movement patterns and skills— i.e. carrying groceries or a child, moving furniture, or hiking. This means continual improvement of movement skills pertaining to locomotion, manipulatives, and combatives. Being strong to be helpful means having the physical competence and capacity to use your body in a safe, effective, and efficient way in your daily tasks. Do you have the stamina to play with your kids or grandchildren? Do you skip out on social events because of a stiff back or sore muscles? In an emergency do you have the strength to get yourself or a friend or family member to safety? At the end of the day we all want to be seen as compassionate beings that are able to help when needed. At MovNat Madison just want to make sure your body will ensure you’re able to do just that.

History Of Practice
Brian “Rock” Hancock believes that exercise and physical activity should celebrate the body’s capabilities. As a Level 2 MovNat Certified Trainer and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, Brian has over 12 years experience working with various fitness backgrounds. He has assisted a range of clients, from the United States Marine Corps to those in corporate settings. He practices what he teaches. A look into his home would prove that a 2x4 sits in the living room for balance practice. His favorite natural movement skills are lifting, carrying, and jumping. In his free time, he loves cooking for his wife and son, and spends as much time as he can sharing meals with friends and enjoying the outdoors.

Personal Statement
I teach people to move well and be strong so they can help others.
