Mission Statement
My mission is to look at mental health in an active way. I guide people through the process of repairing the brain/body relationship through breathing techniques, relaxation, cognitive behavior therapy, meditation/mindfulness, and yoga poses. These techniques are well researched by science. I use them actively to create changes that last, because your mental and your physical health go hand in hand. You will leave group and individual sessions with a plan for skills to practice for lasting changes that support the life you want to live. If you are feeling anxiety, depression or stress that overwhelms your other emotions, then something has gone wrong with the relationship between your brain and your body. Talk therapy is not enough to heal mental and physical symptoms of anxiety, depression, addiction, and other mental health problems. Take action!

History Of Practice
I have been in private practice for 8 years. Before that, I worked in a non-profit providing services to women with PTSD and addiction plus many other diagnoses. I am a licensed professional counselor and a trained yoga therapist. I am knowledgeable in and use a variety of practices that contribute to mental and physical health and wellness. I keep up with neuro-science, so I understand how the brain and the nervous system work and how my clients can work toward retraining their brains and nervous systems. I utilize the processes behind planning, creating, and maintaining habits for change. I am trained in Motivational Interviewing which helps clients move toward change, as well as cognitive therapies to help change thinking patterns. I am a yoga therapist and believe that yoga is a powerful way to teach your mind and body to work together to create a happy, healthy life through breathwork, mindfulness, body awareness, affirmation and relaxation.

Personal Statement
I am interested in thinking outside the box in my professional and personal life. I experiment with alternatives with my diet, my physical activities, creative experiences, and more. I love books, music, podcasts and other sources of entertainment and information. All of these inform my personal life and my professional knowledge. I see the therapeutic relationship with clients as a learning experience for both myself and the client and cherish how this work makes me a better person in many, many ways.

Upcoming Projects
I have moved into a great space this year which allows for small group sessions. I am hoping to expand use of this space to create group sessions not just for yoga, but for meditation, creativity, and workshops.
