In these sessions for women, we'll practice Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY), a gentle, respectful adjunct treatment for people with complex trauma or traumatic stress caused by chronic childhood neglect; verbal, psychological or physical abuse; sexual assault; systemic oppression (racism, homophobia, etc); or other human violence.

TCTSY sessions can be chair-based for people with limited mobility, or can move through a range of yoga forms in which you might stand, sit, or lie on a yoga mat. The focus is on treating you with respect, offering opportunities for you to practice making choices with how to move your own body, and inviting you to pay attention to what you might feel in your body in the present moment---to the extent that you want to or feel ready to. These sessions offer you time and space to practice being with yourself as you are, at your own pace, and with care and respect for what you experience.

In TCTSY we don't touch people or make corrections; instead I will offer options for ways that you might move your body safely, and support you in choosing what you feel works best for your own body.

This series of five small-group sessions includes a variety of support materials and costs $100, or sliding scale if needed. If you'd like to learn more about TCTSY, you could email me at clarenorelle@mac.com; or you might visit the TCTSY website at www.traumasensitiveyoga.com, or my website at clarenorelle.com.
